Overview

An elastomeric coating, designed to provide a long lasting repair to flat roofs including felt, asphalt, slate & tiles. The fast acting formula is rainproof in 6 hours and creates a flexible seal that flexes with the natural movement of the roof. It also resists the suns UV rays, so the colour won't fade.

Preparation

Always ensure the area to be repaired is free from dust, dirt and anything that may affect adhesion.

• Brush away any ponded water from the area.
• Repair any structural faults if required.
• Remove any rust with a proprietary rust treatment and allow to dry.
• New metal backed flashing strips may have residual surface deposits of silicone. Wash surfaces thoroughly with white spirit and allow to dry. Roughen the surface with abrasive paper.

Note: Don’t apply if the surface temperature is below 10℃ or if frost, ice or snow are present.

Application

Always perform a test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.

• Use on a dry day and when temperatures are above 10℃.
• Stir thoroughly before and during use.
• Apply using a brush, roller or soft broom.
• Apply in long, smooth strokes over the area of repair.
• Allow to dry for 6 hours before applying a second coat.

Aftercare & Storage

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place away from heat and sources of ignition. Store upright and carefully reseal partly used containers. The shelf life of Thompson’s 10 Year Roof Seal in unopened containers is at least three years.
